Hire Purchase
Hire Purchase is a popular option for riders who want to spread the cost of their motorcycle over a fixed period while enjoying immediate use of the bike. After paying an initial deposit, you can ride away and make regular agreed payments over the term of the agreement. Once the final payment has been made, the bike becomes yours outright.
This option offers a clear and simple path to ownership, making it ideal for riders who want predictable payments and long term ownership of their motorcycle.
How Hire Purchase works
You choose the motorcycle you would like to buy, with used bikes up to ten years old also eligible. Repayment terms can be set from one to five years, allowing flexibility to suit your circumstances. Payment levels are tailored to your budget, with borrowing available from £1,500 to £25,000.
PCP, Personal Contract Purchase
Personal Contract Purchase, often referred to as PCP, has become one of the most popular ways to finance a motorcycle. Long established in the car market, PCP is now widely recognised in the motorcycle world for its flexibility and affordability. It can allow riders to access newer models or higher specifications while keeping regular payments manageable.
With PCP, you pay a deposit followed by affordable monthly payments based on your expected annual mileage. At the start of the agreement, you are given a Guaranteed Future Value for the bike, which represents its value at the end of the term.
Your options at the end of a PCP agreement
When your PCP agreement comes to an end, you have three clear choices. You can part exchange the bike for a newer model, using any difference between the trade in value and the Guaranteed Future Value as a deposit towards your next agreement. You can choose to pay the Guaranteed Future Value and keep the bike as your own. Alternatively, you can return the bike with no further commitments, provided it meets the agreed condition and mileage terms.
