The Autumn Months, from a Biker’s Perspective

A lot of people seem to say that so-called “Bike Season” runs from Spring through to around September. In my opinion, however, the late autumn into early winter months can make for some of the best biking weather and most beautiful scenery of the year.
In Autumn 2025, before the busyness of our move to Newent, I was lucky enough to spend a lot of my time test-riding and reviewing bikes as they came into our showroom. It was on these rides around the Malverns that I found my love for this time of the year.
The weather is warm enough not to need thermals, but cool enough that you don’t start sweating at traffic lights. The light lasts long enough that you don’t end up riding home in the dark, but is less harsh than the bright, overhead midsummer sun. Then, of course, there’s the beauty of a British Autumn: golden trees, low mists and that crisp, cool air.
As far as I’m concerned, riding season never really ends, and until there’s ice on the roads, get out there and make the most of your bike.
